Choosing Peace Over Reaction (2)
CHOOSING PEACE OVER REACTION (2)
There is a certain kind of strength in silence.
There is healing in stepping back and saying, "I can't control how you feel about me, but I can control how much of myself I allow this to consume."
Learn to let people think what they want, feel what they feel, and make whatever choices they choose.
If someone doesn't value you, you don't have to beg them to.
If someone doesn't respect you, you don't have to spend your life convincing them that you deserve respect.
And if someone chooses to misunderstand you, you don't have to keep breaking your heart trying to explain yourself.
Sometimes, letting things be is not giving up, it's choosing yourself.
It's accepting that not every situation needs closure, not every hurt needs a response, and not every person needs to be convinced of your worth.
You have to learn to walk away from what you cannot change, to release what you cannot control, and to stop allowing other people's actions to determine your peace.
And maybe that's what maturity is; realizing that you don't have to react to everything that hurts you.
Sometimes, you just breathe, let it hurt, let it pass, and let things be.
