The Price Of Authenticity (2)
THE PRICE OF AUTHENTICITY (2)
You can love people without allowing them to manipulate you.
You can care about someone without surrendering your identity to them.
You can forgive someone without giving them unlimited access to you.
Sometimes, the version of you that people call“difficult" is simply the version that finally learned to say, “My space deserves respect”
Don’t confuse someone’s disappointment with your wrongdoing.
Don’t abandon your boundaries just because someone is uncomfortable with them.
The right people may challenge you, disagree with you, or even be disappointed in you; but they won’t need to control you to feel secure around you.
If being authentic, independent, and unwilling to be manipulated makes certain people walk away, let them.
Never be afraid to lose people because you chose to be authentic.
Protect your peace, it is worth more than seeking people's approval.
The right people will not require you to betray yourself just to keep them comfortable.
